PGA DraftKings and FanDuel DFS Primer: Wyndham Championship (2025)

Sedgefield Country Club hosts the final event of the 2025 FedExCup Regular Season with the Wyndham Championship. Located in Greensboro, North Carolina, its a par 70 that will give most golfers in the field the opportunity to clinch a top 70 ranking and qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind next week. Aaron Rai returns as the defending champion.

My PGA DraftKings and FanDuel DFS Primer: 3M Open DFS Primer had a mixed bag of results. Michael Thorbjornsen missed the cut, while Jhonattan Vegas never climbed into contention, logging a T44 finish despite being the defending champion at TPC Twin Cities. Kevin Roy’s 64 in Round 4 yielded a T28 finish. Jake Knapp returned the best value with a T3 finish.

Course Overview

Sedgefield Country Club is a par 70 that runs just over 7,100 yards. It’s a course that has tree-lined fairways, Bermudagrass surfaces and minimal water hazards.

Greens are average in size, while they are undulated, measuring 12.5 feet via Stimpmeter. Rough is only 2.5 inches, which won’t punish errant tee shots like what we’ve seen at other PGA Tour courses this Summer.

Water does come into play on the final few holes, while the majority of hazards are bunkers flanking fairways and guarding greens. The winning scorecard has been between 18-under-par and 21-under-par in four of the last five events, so birdies should be flowing as golfers attempt to crack the FedExCup top 70.

DraftKings maximum salary is set at $50,000

Ryan Gerard: $8,400

Winning the Barracuda Championship was the last time we saw Ryan Gerard on a golf course. He’s got two weeks of rest and should be able to carry some momentum into Sedgefield on Thursday.

His first PGA Tour career win has catapulted Gerard into top 30 inside the FedExCup standings. Pressure is minimized as a result, although I expect he’ll lean on his best asset, which are his irons.

Ranks 27th SG: Approach, 39th total driving and 21st for approach shots from 200+ yards. Despite missing the cut here during his debut in 2023, at under $8.5K on DraftKings, Gerard is worth plugging into DFS lineups.

Emiliano Grillo: $7,500

Emiliano Grillo is a safe option at a cheap salary in DraftKings DFS lineups this week. The Argentinian is among the most accurate drivers on the PGA Tour and is coming off of a T20 finish at the 3M Open.

Grillo ranks 40th SG: Putting, 16th total driving and top 30 for proximity. Despite these metrics, he’s only logged one top 10 finish in 2025, losing in a playoff at the John Deere Classic. Sitting 66th in the FedExCup standings, Grillo will need another strong outing this week to clinch a berth in the playoffs.

FanDuel maximum salary is set at $60,000

William Mouw: $8,600

William Mouw just won the ISCO Championship, firing a 61 in Round 4 to win his first PGA Tour event. The 24-year-old followed that victory with a T7 finish at the 3M Open on Sunday.

Mouw is 80th in the FedExCup right now, so he cannot afford miscues at Sedgefield this week. Ranks 27th SG: Off-the-Tee, 40th SG: Putting and 36th total driving. Also fifth for sand save percentage and 23rd on par 4s.

Beau Hossler: $8,300

Beau Hossler is 96th in the FedExCup, so he’ll need to keep his foot on the gas in Greensboro to avoid missing the playoffs. Hossler has one top 10 finish in 2025, which he just logged at the Barracuda Championship.

A missed cut at the 3M Open explains why we’re landing a minimal $8.3K salary on Hossler this week. Recorded a career-best T12 finish at the 2024 Wyndham Championship.

Ranks 45th SG: Putting, 55th driving distance, 40th scrambling and 38th for sand save percentage. Also top-ten in putts per round and one-putt percentage. If Hossler can get hot with his putter, he’ll be a great asset in FanDuel DFS lineups at a discounted salary.

Max Fried (SP – NYY) vs. TB

Max Fried is in a rut, but he has excellent numbers this season and a get-right matchup tonight. According to FanGraphs, Fried has the third-lowest ERA (2.62), the fourth-lowest xERA (3.48), the fifth-lowest xFIP (3.45) and the sixth-lowest SIERA (3.57) in 2025 among tonight’s probable starters.

Expanding upon Fried’s matchup that I mentioned above, the Rays are 21st in wRC+ (85) with a 23.1 K% versus lefties and 25th in wRC+ (90) with a 22.9 K% on the road in 2025. Tampa Bay was also tied for 25th in wRC+ (91) with a 22.1 K% in the previous 30 days. Thus, the Yankees are listed as -210 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.

Tyler Glasnow (SP – LAD) at CIN

Tyler Glasnow has cooked with gas since returning from the Injured List (IL). In the righty’s past three starts spanning 18 innings, he’s had the following stats.

Glasnow has a favorable matchup and decent betting info tonight. The Reds are tied for 14th in wRC+ (102) with a 22.4 K% versus righties and 22nd in wRC+ (93) with a 22.6 K% at home this season. Cincinnati was also only 28th in wRC+ (89) with a 20.8 K% in the previous 30 days. So, the Dodgers are -150 favorites, and the game’s total is 9.0 runs.

Lucas Giolito (SP – BOS) at MIN

Unfortunately, Lucas Giolito has coughed up nine earned runs in only 9.1 innings in his previous two starts. Nevertheless, in his previous five starts spanning 30 innings, Giolito had a 3.00 ERA, 4.04 xFIP, 4.06 SIERA, 1.07 WHIP, 5.8 BB%, 21.5 K%, 12.2 SwStr% and 27.2 CSW%. He also recorded three wins and three quality starts.

Giolito has a bounce-back matchup and rock-solid betting info tonight. The Twins are tied for 20th in wRC+ (100) with a 21.5 K% versus righties and tied for 14th in wRC+ (105) with a 21.2 K% at home this year. Minnesota was also 21st in wRC+ (96) with a 23.1 K% in the previous 30 days. Finally, the Red Sox are -120 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.

The Mariners didn’t take full advantage of the hitter-friendly conditions at Sutter Health Park last night, but they have another golden opportunity tonight against Luis Severino. The 31-year-old righty has a putrid 6.68 ERA in 66 innings at home, coughing up a .341 wOBA to 149 left-handed batters faced and a .378 wOBA to 159 right-handed batters faced. Seattle’s lefties and righties are exciting stacking options tonight.

The Athletics can also take advantage of their hitter-friendly ballpark against an overachieving rookie. Logan Evans has a 3.64 ERA in 11 starts this season. However, his 5.50 xERA, 4.63 xFIP and 4.73 SIERA are more indicative of the quality of Evans’ work and what to expect going forward. Moreover, even though Evans has been quite lucky this year, he’s allowed a .331 wOBA to righties and a .351 wOBA to lefties. As a result, all Athletics are stackable hitters tonight.

Kurtz is locked in. In his previous 24 games and 106 plate appearances, Kurtz has recorded 36 hits (10 singles, 13 doubles, one triple and 12 homers), 27 runs, 31 RBIs, two stolen bases, a .476 OBP, .560 ISO, .582 wOBA and 282 wRC+.

Randy Arozarena (OF – SEA): 7.5 Fantasy Points – Higher
