Former Rams assistant Thomas Brown promoted to Bears interim coach Former Rams assistant Thomas Brown promoted to Bears interim coach

What a wild three weeks it’s been for former Rams assistant coach Thomas Brown. He started the year as the Bears’ pass game coordinator before being promoted to offensive coordinator when Shane Waldron was fired on Nov. 12.

Now, he’ll be the Bears’ interim head coach for the rest of the year.

Following Thursday’s loss to the Lions, the Bears fired Matt Eberflus as their head coach and promoted Brown to interim coach. It’s a huge opportunity for the 38-year-old, who’s a potential head coaching candidate for the 2025 hiring cycle.

Brown got his start in the NFL with the Rams in 2020 as their running backs coach after several stints in college. He was promoted to assistant head coach in 2022 and the Panthers hired him as their offensive coordinator in 2023.

He’s had many different jobs over the last five years and it could eventually lead to a head coaching gig at some point in the near future – especially if this final stretch with the Bears is a successful one.

Sean McVay talked to Kyren Williams about fumbles and expects him to bounce back Sean McVay talked to Kyren Williams about fumbles and expects him to bounce back

Kyren Williams has struggled with ball security throughout the last two seasons, but that problem has become even more concerning in the last four weeks. He’s fumbled it four times since Week 9, including twice in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles.

Sean McVay didn’t take any carries away from Williams after either of his two fumbles, and it doesn’t sound like anything will change with the running back rotation, either. McVay told reporters on Wednesday that he’s had conversations with Williams about his fumbles and he expects him to bounce back.

He also confirmed that Williams will remain the starter over Blake Corum.

“You certainly have those conversations and you understand it’s about being able to correct,” he said. “Negative experiences without teaching I think this is where you lose morale. It’s really important to be able to have teaching and let’s apply it. Kyren [Williams] is so conscientious. In a lot of instances, he is such a great competitor. That’s one of his best traits that you’re saying, ‘When you were doing this, let’s understand what a great job these defenses do at attacking the football. Where are we leaving ourselves susceptible and what can we do to try to able to give ourselves the best chance to get as many yards as possible while also not potentially giving the football up?’ I trust him being able to move forward. He’s always been a guy that has been mentally tough. He’s been able to respond and I think that’s going to be reflected moving forward.”

It’s been a disappointing season for Williams after he averaged 5.0 yards per carry and a league-best 95.3 yards per game in 2023. This year, he’s averaging only 4.0 yards per carry and 74.7 per game, and he’s already fumbled it five times after doing so three times last year.

It’s clear that McVay fully trusts his workhorse back but at some point, Williams must cut down on the costly fumbles.

Sean McVay explains why the Saints' 4-7 record 'is misleading' Sean McVay explains why the Saints' 4-7 record 'is misleading'

After facing an 8-2 Philadelphia Eagles team in Week 12, the Los Angeles Rams will get a little bit of a break on Sunday when they face the 4-7 New Orleans Saints. It’s a much easier matchup for Sean McVay’s team, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be an easy win.

The Saints have looked like a different team in the last two weeks under interim coach Darren Rizzi, who replaced the recently fired Dennis Allen. The Saints are 2-0 under Rizzi, beating the Falcons and Browns before their bye.

After losing seven games in a row, they’ve gained some momentum and McVay isn’t going to take them lightly at all despite their unimpressive record. He says their 4-7 mark is misleading.

“I think their record is misleading,”McVay said. “They’ve done a good job of winning the last two games. They’re coming off their bye. There are still some foundational things. Defensively, [Saints DC] Joe Woods has done a nice job. [Saints OC Klint] Kubiak, based on just losing some of those receivers, he’s done a really good job of being able to utilize a variety of different personnels and you still see the same influence that [ Coach [Darren] Rizzi has on the teams. I do know this, I’ve seen especially in the last couple weeks, a really good football team. They’ve beaten the Atlanta team that’s leading their division. You look at the way that the Browns played last Thursday against one of the better teams in this league and they did an excellent job being able to take care of them as well.”

The Saints started the season 2-0 by beating the Carolina Panthers 47-10 and Dallas Cowboys 44-19 in the first two weeks. After that, they lost seven straight and were without Derek Carr for several weeks, leading to Allen’s firing.

Fresh off a bye and with a coach who’s lit a fire in his team, the Saints aren’t a group to overlook – especially for a Rams squad that badly needs a win after getting embarrassed by the Eagles.

Appreciating the Territorial Cup: What we’re thankful for at Arizona Sports in 2024

We should be thankful for rivalries.

This year’s Territorial Cup is up there in terms of most significant. For a second, let’s appreciate the rivalry for its uniqueness and without considering the stakes of a single football game.

Born and raised Arizonans can feel why it’s special. Especially in Phoenix, the fanbase is not defined by city or county lines.

I grew up 10 minutes from ASU’s campus. My parents both went to Arizona. But it was my uncle, Tommy, who probably gets the most credit for dictating where I went to school. We lost him this year, and this Thanksgiving I’ll be thinking of him.

He was Tucson to its core. He spent 51 years as a high school football official and assisted the Wildcats as an official during practices.

Tommy would gift University of Arizona shirts, rally towels — whatever — to my brother and me.

What happens when you’re a kindergartener or 1st-grader nonchalantly wearing Wildcat gear around your neighbors, teachers and classmates who were Sun Devil fans? They’d give you crap!  Even if they were gentle teases, you eventually get annoyed.

And as a malleable, developing human being, you learned to push back against those comments. You start to wear the Arizona gear with more purpose. Eventually, I picked a side in the most natural, authentic way: without a choice.

So I went to Tucson for school. I flipped my biology major to a journalism major, covered the Wildcats, moved back home, covered the Sun Devils (hopefully fairly) by getting rid of that fan filter, yada yada.

My story isn’t unique in this time and place. I’d bet that so many people in this state have similar stories. But it’s comparable to only a few rivalries across the country. Rivalries this deep can determine where we go to school, what we study and what jobs we get.

Crazy.

Anyway, this Thanksgiving, appreciate the Territorial Cup. And those people who inadvertently got you invested in this massively emotional deal.

Are we … a football state now?

There is energy behind Jonathan Gannon of the Cardinals (6-5) and Kenny Dillingham of the Sun Devils (9-2). There is purpose and a connection with the players that their predecessors, for different reasons, did not bring.

It shows up functionally on the football field in the form of competence. A low bar to be thankful for, to be sure, but that theme is important.

Are the Sun Devils the most talented team in the Big 12? I doubt it.

Even compare it to the 4-7 Wildcats, who have potentially three first-round NFL Draft picks, and you could argue ASU is not first in the state.

As for the Cardinals, I keep going back to preseason position group rankings from PFF and ESPN. Aside from tight end, safety and maybe quarterback, the roster talent didn’t look like it was in the top half of the league. In some cases, it was in the bottom five.

Still, this is a winning football team because its coaching staff has a plan. The Cardinals, with a pretty young coaching staff, is developing lower draft picks and knowing how to utilize underrated free-agent additions. They know how to fit the pieces.

The Cardinals and Sun Devils hit on picking coaches. Let’s enjoy watching them operate under the brighter lights this coming month.

The Suns have a Big Three still (and maybe they’ll be fighting for a title)

We’ve determined that the Suns need the Big Three to have a chance at competing this year. Surprising stuff, I know.

When they have been on the court together, the results look more promising than last season.

By general metrics, the Suns have played average ball, but they’ve piled up wins with a handful of clutch performances from Kevin Durant and friends. It’s progress compared to last year, when we without exaggeration wished our eyeballs were pulled out of our skulls for too many fourth quarters because the quality of basketball was so poor.

Mat Ishbia and the front office didn’t panic too much. It didn’t get too, too knee-jerky after last season went so poorly and it became easy to dismiss the Big Three project as a failure. Frank Vogel probably lost the locker room and was out, and the front office needed this past offseason to flip more switches to make this into a relatively deep team around its stars.

So here we are in a prove-it year. The basketball product looks better. Players are playing free. Wins are happening even though there’s still a learning curve under Mike Budenholzer.

Maybe the Suns don’t win it all or hit a bad matchup early in the postseason. But as it stands, they’ve got a shot to do some things, and that’s all you can ask for.

And if you don’t enjoy Durant doing the things he’s doing at 36 years old, I don’t know what to tell ya, bud.

The college hoops scene is interesting!

The filters you can view ASU versus Arizona in their shared move to the Big 12 are fascinatingly different.

Arizona no longer gets to plow through mid-tier, under-funded basketball programs. The Wildcats get to find out what life is like in a grittier, slower and more physical conference, where flaws will be exposed before we get to the first 2-10 seed matchup in the NCAA Tournament that UA fans naturally get nervous about. The early returns against power programs aren’t great so far.

For Arizona State, an apparent injection of NIL funding with a reshaped athletic department gives Bobby Hurley a chance. That’s not to say I think ASU has a shot of winning the Big 12. The Big 12 is by far a better hoops than football conference, and I don’t think the Sun Devils can do in basketball what they did in football. But ASU’s young squad has a shot to hang. It’s progress.

That’s without mentioning the inclusion of Grand Canyon, which is coming off a fun NCAA Tournament run and has one of the most fun players in the nation, Tyon Grant-Foster.

Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings & Start/Sit Advice: Week 13 (2024)

Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings & Start/Sit Advice: Week 13 (2024)

Week 12 was filled with kicker drama, with Austin Seibert missing an extra point following an improbable late touchdown pass from Jayden Daniels to Terry McLaurin. That heartbreaking turn of events was followed by a missed chip shot field goal try by Ka’imi Fairbairn, which would likely secure a win for the Texans over the Titans.

With the proliferation of 50-plus field goals this season, it is important to remember that kicking is hard, and even the best, like Fairbairn, can miss clutch kicks.

Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings & Start/Sit Advice

Here are a few Week 12 strong performances from widely available kickers

Wil Lutz (K – DEN) vs. Las Vegas: 21% roster percentage on Yahoo

Lutz was pure money on Sunday, with five made field goals and two extra points against the Raiders. His is likely going to be the top waiver kicker ad this week.

Nick Folk (K – TEN) @ Houston: 1% roster percentage on Yahoo

The old man of the kicking world posted his second-best game of the season with 18 fantasy points against Houston. Outside of this game and his 24-point showing against the Dolphins, Folk has been someone to avoid in fantasy. Of the two, I would rather add Lutz.

Week 12 Dud Performances from heavily-owned kickers

Jake Moody (K – SF) vs. Green Bay: 70% roster percentage on Yahoo

The 49ers are a shell of their former self, and all of their players should be downgraded with Allen under center. In addition, this week against the Bills in the blizzard is not a great start for Moody.

*Red Zone Efficiency is based on the inverse of how well the kicker’s offense does in the red zone. For example, the Ravens rank 1st in red zone efficiency; therefore, Justin Tucker has a RZ EFF score of 31. The lower the number, the better for kickers, as playing on a team that struggles to score touchdowns in the red zone equates to more field goal opportunities.

**The K Score is the sum of a player’s opponent’s red zone, the red zone efficiency of his offense, and the overall rank of his respective team in terms of total yards. A low score indicates that a kicker has variables working in his favor for a good fantasy kicking performance.

Kicker rankings are based on numerous factors, including matchups, Vegas lines and score projections, weather conditions, the ability of a kicker’s team offense and their ability to move the ball into field goal range, offensive red zone efficiency, and how well the opposing defense limits touchdowns in the red zone. These factors are a guide but not a definitive way to predict kicking success, as other variables and negative game scripts significantly impact the outcome.

Based on all of the variables mentioned above, the following two kickers are players ranked outside of the FantasyPros ECR top 10 who could be an excellent play in Week 13.

BettingPros Free Trial

Brandon McManus (K – GB) vs. Miami 13% roster percentage on Yahoo

I am staying in the flames here with McManus. The weather against the Dolphins on Thursday looks solid for kicking, and I anticipate there will be a positive game script here for some points. Look for another 10-plus performance from McManus.

Younghoe Koo (K – ATL) vs. LA Chargers 50% roster percentage on Yahoo

It has been a rough year for Koo, but I like him more than consensus this week. He is going to outperform his ECR of 11. Assuming this game does not go sideways, I have him as a top-5 player. Looking at you, Kirk Cousins.

Prediction Review

Each week, I suggest two kickers ranked outside the FantasyPros ECR top 10 who I believe will be solid performers based on the variables described in the K Score section. The following is a review of my picks from the previous week to see where I was successful and where I missed the mark.

Brandon McManus (K – GB) vs. San Francisco: 13% roster percentage on Yahoo

ECR Rank: 14
My Rank: 7
Week 12 Finish: 10

McManus came through with a nice 10-point performance against the visiting 49ers. I anticipated even more production based on the 49ers red zone defense, but the Pack were too efficient and steamrolled a once-solid defense.

Parker Romo (K – MIN) @ Chicago 8% roster percentage on Yahoo

ECR Rank: 12
My Rank: 9
Week 12 Finish: T5

After a rough week in which Austin Seibert did not suit up in week 11, it was nice to have a pair of top-10 finishes, including Parker Romo‘s 13 points against the Bears. I like him again this week against the Cardinals.

Will the Rams-Saints game be on TV in your area this Sunday? Will the Rams-Saints game be on TV in your area this Sunday?

The Los Angeles Rams will be on the road in Week 13 after their home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, paying the New Orleans Saints a visit this weekend. It’s the third straight year the Rams will face the Saints and the second time since 2022 that they’ll be on the road in New Orleans.

Unlike Sunday’s game against the Eagles, this game won’t be nationally televised in prime time. Instead, it’ll be in the late-afternoon slot on FOX with Kenny Albert and former Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma on the call from the Superdome.

Below is the broadcast map for Week 13 on FOX. If you’re in the blue, you’ll get the Rams-Saints game on TV in your area.

The Rams are 4-2 against the Saints under head coach Sean McVay, winning last year’s matchup at home, 30-22. This is a pivotal game for both teams, as they’re each below .500 and trying to stay alive in the playoff race.

If the Rams can beat the Saints and the Seahawks and Cardinals both lose this weekend, there will be a three-way tie atop the NFC West.

Week 13 Fantasy Football Start/Sit Advice

Sleepers

Which player outside of the top 100 in the FantasyPros flex rankings is a good sleeper start, and why do you think he has upside this week?

Mark Andrews (TE – BAL)

“Full disclosure: I really don’t consider Mark Andrews a sleeper start, but given that he’s ranked outside the top 100, he is one here. The Ravens meet the Eagles in a battle of two Super Bowl contenders, both with high-powered offenses, and both have logos on their helmets with mean-looking birds (Note to self: always bet on the team with the ticked-off bird, haha). Anyway, Ringo expects a high-scoring game. Andrews is Lamar Jackson‘s go-to guy and has a decent chance of hitting paydirt. Meanwhile, Ringo’s go-to-play is telling terrible jokes. He has a decent chance of getting hit by his readers, haha!”
Mark Ringo (Sleepers and Busts)

Adam Thielen (WR – CAR)

Adam Thielen returned to play last week and caught 3 of his four targets. Most of the yardage came on one play, but this was a good sign for his first game back. Also, this was against the Chiefs, who Carolina played tough. This week, he gets the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and we should continue to see his snaps increase from his injury. He is Bryce Young‘s most trusted target, and we should see him get more opportunities this week.”
David Heilman (Sports Gambling Podcast Network)

“In Adam Thielen’s first return to action last week since Week 3, he faced off against one of the league’s top defensive units. Though he wasn’t the main target earner, he did manage a 3 for 57 line on just 61% of snaps. With breakout rookie TE Ja’Tavion Sanders likely out and facing a much worse defense in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Thielen double up his numbers from last week. As this week’s 106th overall player, I think he easily doubles up his ranking as well, with the upside to do much more damage. Give me the 34-year-old No. 1 Carolina wideout as the Panthers desperately try to keep pace with the Bucs offense.”
Jeremy Shulman (Fantasy Football Universe)

Devaughn Vele (WR – DEN)

Devaughn Vele because he has a great matchup against Cleveland. Vele has been able to benefit in recent weeks from the continued rise of Nix and the connection he has with Sutton. Vele has grabbed the #2 WR spot with a firm grip and does not look to let it go.”
Andrew Leduc (That Sports Podcast Network)

Devaughn Vele might not crack the top 100 in FantasyPros’ flex rankings, but he’s a sneaky pick who could surprise fantasy managers this week. His matchup against the Cleveland Browns is appealing, as they’ve struggled against wide receivers, allowing 5.1 Fantasy Points Above Expectation and ranking 29th in Fantasy Points Allowed with 31.7 FPPG given up to the position. Plus, Vele has posted two top-24 PPR finishes in his last three games. If you’re dealing with injuries and need a flex option, he’s a solid choice to roll the dice on this week.”
Andrew Mott (Big Dogs Gotta Eat)

Tucker Kraft (TE – GB)

Tucker Kraft is a great sleeper start this week against the Miami Dolphins defense as they allow on average 6.5 fantasy points to tight ends, which is right in the middle of the pack. We also need to keep an eye on the status of Romeo Doubs, who suffered a concussion last week against the San Francisco 49ers. If Doubs is unable to play, Kraft’s target share will increase exponentially. Another sign is that head coach Matt LaFleur is specifically drawing up plays for the second-year tight end, an example is the tight end screen that Kraft scored on last week. It is obvious that he has become a prominent part of the passing game, and this week, I expect him to record at least 3-5 receptions and score a touchdown.”
Lawrence Iacona (Gridiron Experts)

Rashod Bateman (WR – BAL)

“At some point, people are going to have to start respecting Rashod Bateman and what he’s doing this week. Bateman has been responsible for all four of Lamar Jackson‘s longest passing plays this year, and his five touchdowns are one more than the rest of his NFL career combined. The Eagles have been a very good pass defense since their bye week, but Jackson is in the best form of his career and has built a solid level of trust with Bateman. If this game is going to hit its high over/under of 50.5, it’s hard not to imagine Bateman finishes as a top-36 WR, as he has in five of his last eight games.”
Tom Strachan (NFL Best Ball)

Alec Pierce (WR – IND)

“With Josh Downs expected to miss time, Alec Pierce could be an interesting start for fantasy managers in Week 13. Pierce has displayed chemistry with Anthony Richardson this year and gets a tasty matchup with the Patriots, who concede the 8th most points to WRs and were just shredded by Miami last week. With Downs in the lineup, Pierce has still been on the field for around 80% of the Colts’ total offensive snaps. Without Downs, that number may only go up. It is risky, given the hot and cold demeanor displayed by Richardson, but if Pierce is going to hit, he will hit big.”
Ed Birdsall (Talking Points Sports)

Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR – NO)

Marquez Valdes-Scantling continues to be a good sleeper option for Week 13. MVS was coming off back-to-back games over 12-plus fantasy points. He has found a role in a poor Saints passing offense as the downfield threat, which has been missing since Rashid Shaheed‘s injury. The Rams are a secondary that has struggled against fantasy receivers this season. MVS only needs one target to make a difference as a FLEX option; he is good to have in lineups this week. ”
Steven Pintado (The Fantasy Coaches)

Demario Davis (LB – NO)

“IDP Edition. Most casual fans might feel like drafting an IDP sleeper is like fishing at night.- You either reel in a stud or spend weeks untangling your roster. But it’s not true; the value is there in later rounds. Here is a case in point: Demario Davis is criminally undervalued (currently Fantasy Pros IDP 108th ranked player), yet we will continue to outplay his worth. Producing 23 tackles in the last two games, and coming fresh off a bye he gets a matchup against the Rams who love to run the football. Davis is an example of an every-down linebacker, who logs 100% snaps yet will go sure late in drafts. If I were a fisherman, Davis would provide the right bait to fish for a championship. Almost every season. Not just for Week 13 but overall good value.”

Duds

Which player inside the top 40 in the FantasyPros flex rankings is likely to disappoint fantasy managers this week?

Malik Nabers (WR – NYG)

“A few weeks ago, I wrote that Malik Nabers was my pick to sell high on. Hopefully, some of you took my advice because the Giants’ offense is an absolute train wreck. The loss of New York’s best lineman, Andrew Thomas, was the main reason why I suggested it was time to unload the talented rookie. QB Tommy DeVito may be a “Goodfella” and a funny guy, but he’s a clear downgrade from Daniel Jones. However, there’s no bigger downgrade than hearing another one of Mark Ringo’s awful jokes.”
Mark Ringo (Sleepers and Busts)

David Montgomery (RB – DET)

David Montgomery is currently listed as RB17 and Flex player RB26. That is a pretty confident ranking, considering he did not return to the game on Sunday. It’s a short week with them playing on Thanksgiving, and he is questionable. If he does play, we could see him in a more limited role, and the re-injury risk is there. It’s hard to sit Montgomery, but I would consider the risks with 32 teams playing this week.”
David Heilman (Sports Gambling Podcast Network)

Tyreek Hill (WR – MIA)

Tyreek Hill, I believe, will continue to struggle with the sore hand injury he has. Miami plays on a short week on Thanksgiving night on the road in Green Bay. The Packer defense has been great at causing disruption and producing turnovers this year. I believe Hill will miss expectations.”
Andrew Leduc (That Sports Podcast Network)

“Currently the 37th overall flex player, Tyreek Hill has disappointed nearly every week and is set to do so again this week. The Green Bay Packers aren’t an incredibly formidable defense, but they have held opponents under 20 points in 6 of 11 games this season. Factor in that Hill has only finished better than WR26 twice this season, and it seems like Hill is in for another letdown. Tyreek is a guy you are still starting most weeks, but with no byes in Week 13, it’s possible you have better options this week. And, with De’Von Achane and Jonnu Smith getting theirs weekly, there’s little room for Hill to get there on volume. And this year, he’s barely gotten there on big gains, posting just three games over 70 yards on the season.”
Jeremy Shulman (Fantasy Football Universe)

“Unfortunately, we have to say Tyreek Hill could disappoint fantasy managers in Week 13. Hill isn’t being used as the heavily targeted receiver like he was last season. The Dolphin’s offense has changed as a short passing team using their backfield and tight end. The Packers have been doing well limiting receivers as of Week 6; they haven’t allowed a receiver over 70 yards. The cold factor with this offense could make things even worse for the Dolphins, who usually play well in the cold. Hill could be more of a name-value player than actually doing well in lineups. ”
Steven Pintado (The Fantasy Coaches)

Breece Hall (RB – NYJ)

Breece Hall is likely to disappoint fantasy managers this week. The New York Jets have been unable to establish the running game thus far this season, as the offensive line has been playing poorly and limited due to injuries. I understand Hall had a great game in week 11 against the Indianapolis Colts, scoring a season-high 31.1 fantasy points in PPR leagues. Unfortunately, his performance throughout the season has been inconsistent, as his numbers range from a low of 3.8 PPR fantasy points to 31.1. Don’t expect anything spectacular from Hall this week as he will probably only score around 10-12 points in PPR leagues.”
Lawrence Iacona (Gridiron Experts)

Breece Hall – Over the last three games, the Seattle Seahawks run defense hasn’t allowed a single explosive run and held Kyren Williams to RB28, Christian McCaffrey to RB14, and James Conner to RB18 with none of those running backs finding the end zone against them. Hall has been held without a touchdown in six of his last eight games, and projecting this Jets offense for any level of success is a difficult sell.”
Tom Strachan (NFL Best Ball)

James Conner (RB – ARI)

“It has been a little iffy of late for James Conner. Since Week 4, the Cardinals RB has posted 15+ half-PPR points only twice and has only two touchdowns in that stretch. After a dismal performance last week in Seattle, he gets a road matchup against the Vikings in Week 13. Minnesota has only conceded four touchdowns to running backs this year and has held opposing RBs to under 100 rushing yards in each of their last four outings. It is a tough call, but if fantasy managers can avoid it, Conner may best be served on benches this week.”
Ed Birdsall (Talking Points Sports)

Tee Higgins (WR – CIN)

Tee Higgins is currently ranked inside the top 40 in FantasyPros’ flex rankings, but he’s someone I think could underwhelm fantasy managers this week. His matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers looks tough, as they’ve been strong against wide receivers, allowing -4.8 Fantasy Points Above Expectation and ranking 6th in Fantasy Points Allowed, giving up just 23.7 FPPG to the position. While you’re likely still starting Higgins, I’d lower expectations. He’s more of a boom-or-bust WR2 this week, so there’s a risk he could leave you disappointed.”
Andrew Mott (Big Dogs Gotta Eat)

Nick Bolton (LB – KC)

“IDP Edition. Generally, I don’t panic about players, but after four weeks of seeing the body of work, the sky is falling, and I am panicking! Nick Bolton only has 20 tackles in the last four games despite yielding a high snap count. That’s like LB3 value and the price of LB1. Likely because this team’s defensive line is strong up from, and the Chiefs offense generally dominates the time of possession, the fact still remains. Time to move him down the rankings.”

Former Giants QB Daniel Jones signs with Vikings, the Cardinals’ next opponent

Former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is signing with the Minnesota Vikings, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

Jones will join Minnesota’s practice squad less than a week after the Giants released the former No. 6 overall draft pick, according to the person who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the agreement hasn’t been finalized.

Sam Darnold has helped the Vikings start 9-2. Jones joins Nick Mullens and Brett Rypien in Minnesota’s quarterback room. Rookie first-round pick J.J. McCarthy had season-ending knee surgery in August and a second procedure on his knee earlier this month.

Jones went 24-44-1 as a starter in New York, with his best season in 2022 when the Giants went 9-7-1 and beat Minnesota on the road in the first round of the playoffs.

Jones completed just 63% of his passes with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions this season.

The Vikings host the Arizona Cardinals (6-5) at 11 a.m. MST Sunday.

Rams TE Tyler Higbee will practice this week for 1st time since January Rams TE Tyler Higbee will practice this week for 1st time since January

Rams fans have anxiously awaited the return of tight end Tyler Higbee and he’s getting closer to being back on the field with each passing week. Sean McVay shared an update on Higbee Tuesday, telling reporters that the tight end is expected to return to practice this week.

It will be his first time practicing since tearing his ACL and MCL in January’s playoff loss to the Lions, so it’s a huge step for Higbee.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like McVay expects Higbee to be ready to play against the Saints on Sunday, but he’s clearly making progress and will be back sooner rather than later.

“I think that’d be presumptuous,” McVay said about whether Higbee will play Sunday. “He has made amazing progress. I think we want to get him out on the practice field. He provides such great leadership and such a great spark for us in a variety of ways. I don’t know that this week would be the week that he would return, but for him to even be back out on the practice field and starting his clock is a real credit to him, to our medical staff, and just to the overall resolve and resilience of that individual who I have a lot of love and respect for.”

Higbee, 31, has missed the first 11 games of the season while on the PUP list but his return will be a boost to a Rams offense that’s gotten very little out of its tight ends in the passing game.

Colby Parkinson’s 243 receiving yards are the most among Rams tight ends this season, with Hunter Long and Davis Allen combining for just 82 yards together.

In 15 games last season, Higbee caught 47 passes for 495 yards and two touchdowns after posting four straight years with at least 500 yards and three touchdowns.

Monday’s NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions: Scottie Barnes, Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson (11/25)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (11/25)

Scottie Barnes (G/F – TOR): 14.5 points (alt line)

Scottie has been solid since returning from the multi game layoff, averaging 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. He should be back in the 20s as soon as tonight, but we will be tapping the alt line until he gets it going again. Scottie has scored at least 17 points in five of his six games this season and is in an excellent position to do so again tonight against a Detroit Pistons team surrendering 21.02 points per game to the point guard position. Bump the More on Barnes for Monday night basketball.

Pick: More

Karl-Anthony Towns (F/C – NYK): 26.5 points

KAT has been excellent for the Knicks this season but has scored 26 or fewer points in three of his last four and four of his last six. Towns is liable to go off on any night, making Less plays a risky proposition, but KAT comes into tonight’s contest nursing a calf injury that should continue to limit his aggressiveness. Tap the Less on Towns for Monday night at Sleeper Picks.

Pick: Less

Jalen Brunson (G – NYK): 5.5 assists (alt line)

Brunson continues his excellent play for the New York Knicks, averaging 25.1 points and 7.4 assists per game. He has dished out seven or more assists in six straight games and in eight of nine. Jalen is averaging a career high in assists due to an upgraded supporting cast and should hit at least six tonight against a Denver Nuggets team relinquishing the fifth most assists per game to the point guard position at 9.90 per contest. Jab the More on Jalen for Monday night’s action.

Pick: More

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
