Former Nebraska safety Malcolm Hartzog is transferring to Arizona from the transfer portal, according to CBS Sports.
The 5-9, 185-pounder started 32 of the 38 games he appeared in for the Cornhuskers.
Out of Jefferson Davis County High School in Prentiss, Mississippi, Hartzog originally signed with Nebraska as a consensus 3-star recruit.
Hartzog was a regular corner/nickel for Nebraska from 2022-24 but had a season-ending groin/adductor injury two games into the 2025 season.
He registered 108 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 13 passes defended and eight interceptions during his four-year career at Nebraska.
Hartzog is the No. 33 safety and No. 415 overall player in the transfer portal, according to 247 Sports. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
He was named honorable-mention All-Big Ten in 2024 and the 2022-23 Nebraska Male Freshman Athlete of the Year.
Hartzog joins former Wyoming cornerback Tyrese Boss as a defensive back addition for Arizona in the transfer portal.
The Wildcats lost safety Jack Luttrell to the portal and starters Dalton Johnson and Genesis Smith to graduation and the NFL draft, respectively.
