Key offseason dates to remember for Cardinals

The offseason rolls on after the NFL’s free agency frenzy and most recently the annual NFL owners meeting in Phoenix.

Now, the focus turns to the 2026 NFL Draft in just a few short weeks and Phase 1 of offseason programs taking hold for Arizona and the rest of the league.

A look at the biggest dates and deadlines to remember this offseason as it relates to the Cardinals:

Important NFL offseason dates for the Arizona Cardinals in 2026

April 7

The Cardinals’ strength and conditioning program kicks off. This marks the first phase of Arizona’s offseason programs.

April 15

The deadline for the Cardinals and the rest of the league to meet with draft prospects at their facility.

Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson and Miami signal caller Carson Beck were among the prospects reportedly scheduled for top 30 visits with Arizona.

April 21-23

Arizona’s voluntary veteran minicamp.

April 22

The deadline for teams to meet with draft prospects at any location. That includes video and phone calls.

April 23-25

The NFL Draft takes place in Pittsburgh.

Arizona’s current draft capital is highlighted by the No. 3 overall pick.

May 1

The deadline for teams to pick up the fifth-year option of a player drafted in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Paris Johnson Jr. marks Arizona’s only eligible option. It’s a no-brainer move unless the team decides to extend him long-term instead. Also, a no-brainer.

May 8-9

Arizona’s rookie minicamp gets underway.

May 18-19 and 21

Arizona’s first session of voluntary organized team activities.

May 26-27 and 29

The Cardinals’ second session of voluntary OTAs.

June 1-2 and June 4

Arizona’s third session of voluntary OTAs.

June 8-10

Minicamp for veterans and rookies.

Mid July

Training camp kicks off.

August 8

Larry Fitzgerald’s Pro Football Hall of Fame induction in Canton, Ohio.
