Fantasy Football Start/Sit: Harold Fannin, Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf

Fantasy Football Start/Sit: Harold Fannin, Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf

Start em or sit em? Fantasy football start or sit decisions can be excruciating. While it feels great to make the right call and cruise to fantasy glory, it hurts just as much when you have someone erupt while on your bench. You can use our Who Should I Start? tool to gauge advice from fantasy football experts as you make your lineup decisions. And you can also sync your fantasy football league for free using our My Playbook tool for custom advice, rankings and analysis.

Let’s take a look at a few polarizing players and what fantasy football expert Derek Brown advises.

Fantasy Football Start’em, Sit’em Lineup Advice: Week 4

Here’s Derek Brown’s fantasy football Week 4 outlook for a few players to help with lineup decisions.

Harold Fannin Jr. (TE – CLE)

After his standout performance last week, Harold Fannin Jr. is the TE10 in fantasy points per game. Posting 24.1 PPR points in a three-game sample can falsely inflate your value like that, though. Fannin was held below 11 PPR points in each of the first two games of the season. He has a 21.7% target share, 1.57 YPRR, two red zone targets, one deep target, and a 17.9% first-read share (third on the team). Fannin could stay hot this week against a pass defense that has allowed the eighth-most yards per target and the ninth-most fantasy points per opportunity to tight ends.

Aaron Rodgers (QB – PIT)

Aaron Rodgers had a mini renaissance last week as the QB7 in fantasy. Overall, he is the QB27 in fantasy points per game, with only that performance as his claim to fantasy fame for 2026 as a QB1. Among 31 qualifying quarterbacks, Rodgers has the fifth-lowest yards per attempt, the 11th-lowest passing success rate, the sixth-lowest catchable target rate, and the 12th-lowest hero throw rate. Rodgers will likely return to the QB2 ranks this week against a pass defense that has allowed the 13th-fewest yards per attempt while ranking 16th in passing success rate and EPA per dropback allowed. The key for Cleveland this week is for their pass rush, which is third in pressure rate and fourth in quick pressure rate, to get home. If it does, Rodgers will have trouble, as he has the 12th-fewest yards per attempt and the tenth-lowest passing success rate when under pressure this season.

DK Metcalf (WR – PIT)

DK Metcalf has started the season slowly as the WR47 in fantasy points per game. Metcalf has a 20.9% target share with only 0.82 YPRR, seven deep targets, one red zone target, and a 31.4% first-read share. He has seen solid volume weekly and done very little with it. Last week, he scored a touchdown as DJ Turner ran into a teammate, thus leaving Metcalf wide open in the end zone. This week, he faces a Cleveland pass defense that has the highest single-high rate (75.7%) in the NFL. Against single high, Metcalf has struggled this season with only a 19% target per route run rate and 0.61 YPRR. I expect another disappointing stat line from Metcalf this week. After their Week 1 debacle, the Browns’ secondary has tightened up, allowing the seventh-fewest yards per target and the fifth-fewest fantasy points per opportunity to perimeter wide receivers over the last two weeks.
