Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo won his third Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor, while ASU linebacker Caleb McCullough earned the defensive weekly award for his performance against Utah on Friday.
The Big 12 named its weekly winners Monday, with Cincinnati’s Jake Golday additionally earning newcomer of the week and Utah’s Cole Becker taking home the conference’s special teams player of the week.
Skattebo rushed 22 times for 158 yards and two touchdowns. That came out to an average of 7.2 yards per carry. He also added four catches for 41 yards.
The touchdowns in the Sun Devils’ 27-19 win accounted for ASU’s scoring in the second half and came on runs of 50 and 47 yards, respectively.
McCullough made a big impression while filling in for Keyshaun Elliott, who missed the first half due to a penalty suspension the week prior against Kansas. McCullough posted two interceptions and 12 tackles with 1.5 for loss.
Arizona State will see Golday and the Bearcats at 9 a.m. Saturday on 98.7 and the Arizona Sports app.
In Cincinnati’s 19-13 victory against UCF, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound Golday finished with five tackles, two for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Becker hit all four field goal attempts for the Utes against the Sun Devils on Friday as ASU’s defense held up in the red zone.
