ASU’s Jayden Quaintance exits vs. Oklahoma State, out with ankle injury

Arizona State center Jayden Quaintance left Sunday’s game against Oklahoma State with a left ankle injury as he was seemingly tripped in transition. He will not return to the game, a team spokesperson confirmed to Arizona Sports.

Quaintance appeared to roll his left ankle while tripping over Oklahoma State’s Jamyron Keller, who seemed to veer in front of the big man while getting back in transition.

The 17-year-old freshman had three steals and one block in addition to the three points he scored in nine minutes before exiting.

Quaintance missed ASU’s game at Colorado on Jan. 28 with an injury to his right ankle. He also played through that injury in the prior game against Iowa State.

Arizona State was already playing without starting senior guards Adam Miller and BJ Freeman due to suspensions. The Quaintance departure made it three starters the Sun Devils would be without for the second half.
