Liam Coen hasn’t been the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coach for even a month but he’s wasted no time going back to his Rams roots as he gets going in Duval. After already interviewing two Rams assistant coaches for their offensive coordinator position, as well as James Gladstone in their GM search, the Jaguars are signing a former L.A. quarterback to their offseason roster.
The team announced on Monday that John Wolford has been signed, along with wide receiver Louis Rees-Zammit. Wolford was with the Rams in 2019, 2020 and 2022 when Coen was on the coaching staff, so they have a history of working together. Coen was the assistant QBs coach in 2020 and the offensive coordinator in 2022.
Wolford left the Rams in 2023 when he signed with the Buccaneers, spending most of the 2024 offseason in Tampa Bay when Coen was the offensive coordinator. Clearly, Coen thinks highly of Wolford and wants to give him another shot in Jacksonville.
