Fantasy Football Players to Sell High in Week 5

Our Featured Pros have some ideas about who you can sell high in fantasy football this week.

Sell High

Who is your favorite sell-high candidate after Week 5 and why? Also, who would you try to get in return?

Quinshon Judkins (RB – CLE)

“Quinshon Judkins had a surprisingly solid performance last Thursday night against the Steelers, but I still don’t buy it. The Browns are winning, yet Judkins is still having a tough time getting going. The second-year back is averaging an abysmal 3.0 yards per carry this season and hasn’t topped 70 rushing yards in a game yet. Against Pittsburgh, six receptions and his first touchdown of the season propped up his fantasy day. If someone in your league is willing to give you a top-15 receiver in exchange for Cleveland’s lead back, I’d be taking that deal. Aim for guys like Christian Watson or Garrett Wilson in return for Judkins to cash out and profit.”
– Wolf Trelles-Heard (FantasyPros)

Christian Watson (WR – GB)

“Christian Watson, he is GB’s best bet to score, but the wheels are falling off. Players are not happy and vocal; GB could sour fast after getting stomped by the Bears at home. Matthew Golden looks like a legit WR option and will continue to eat targets. Tucker Kraft will eat targets as he gets healthier. AND Watson is an injury waiting to happen. Target: RB – James Cook – The Bills are coming off two rough weeks. They will get it back together, and James Cook will continue to score touchdowns at a high rate. WR – Zay Flowers – He looks to have taken a leap, and right now he has fewer points than Watson, and Lamar will miss a bit of time. You might be able to swap these WRs and reap the rewards for the rest of the season, even though the next couple of weeks might be rough with Snoop Huntley.”
– Shaun Ireland (FantasyPros)

Tetairoa McMillan (WR – CAR)

“Tetairoa McMillan is my favorite sell-high after exploding for 14 catches, 192 yards, and two touchdowns on 16 targets, because we’re unlikely to get a better selling window. Jalen Coker missed that game after leading Carolina with 18 catches and 222 yards through three weeks, and McMillan had just an 18% target share entering Week 4, so I expect more competition for volume when Coker returns. Carolina is also on bye in Week 5, giving me even more incentive to capitalize on McMillan’s WR1 overall performance now. I would deal him for a player like Rashee Rice, who will be more heavily involved down the stretch.”
– Ryan Linkletter (Blitz Sports Media)

“Tetairoa McMillan looked great and did it on an island game. He has had a solid start, and the targets in Carolina are pretty consolidated. McMillan dominated without Coker, putting up WR1 numbers. He is still seen as the WR1 in this offense and could be used as a piece to tier up to target Parker Washington, Justin Jefferson, or Malik Nabers.”
– David Heilman (Dynasty Trade Calculator)

Alvin Kamara (RB – NO)

“Alvin Kamara is my sell-high after two touchdowns carried a 58-yard performance against Atlanta. New Orleans Saints: I no longer trust New Orleans’ running game, and Kamara sits at RB63 on my rest-of-season board. I’d shop him to a manager who needs a running back and ask for Denzel Boston, my WR22. KC Concepcion, my WR30, is another return I’d take.”
– Jay Henry Ocho (Jay Henry Ocho)

Jeremiyah Love (RB – ARI)

“Full disclosure, Jeremiyah Love is not at his high. However, after his comments following the Giants game, I would try to move on from him at all costs. My fears regarding his high ankle sprain lingering have unfortunately come to fruition. Love went to the coaching staff and told them they would be better off playing Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight more. I’m not a doctor, but that’s a troubling sign. In addition, the Cardinals lost their best offensive lineman, LT Paris Johnson, for the season to a torn left bicep. I would try to trade Love straight up for: Bhayshul Tuten, Quinshon Judkins, Matthew Golden, Luther Burden, Jameson Williams, or Colston Loveland.”
– Mark Ringo (Sleepers and Busts)

Malik Nabers (WR – NYG)

“Malik Nabers, he is easily my favorite sell-high candidate of the week. He is coming off his best game of the season, but let’s be honest with ourselves here: going into the week, you would have loved to be fielding offers for Nabers with the situation the Giants’ offense was facing and the different injuries Nabers was dealing with as well. Now he has his big game, and lets not revert back to holding again, lets take our blessing and sell, sell, sell. I would look to grab someone like a Tetairoa McMillan who just had a monster game, but could easily fool owners into a sell-high situation himself. McMillan has a better offense, has one of the highest-performing QBs in fantasy right now, and his main competition, Coker, is dealing with a lingering injury. Swap Nabers for him now, and don’t look back if you can.”
– Community Consensus (r/fantasyfootball)

Parker Washington (WR – JAC)

“Parker Washington owners need to sell yesterday. Trevor Lawrence has too many weapons that need their targets; the leading target will be different every week for the Jaguars. The trade value is still high for Parker; try to trade him for Malik Nabers and move on.”
– Muntradamus (Beast Dome)

Dynasty: “Parker Washington is my favorite sell-high because his recent production gives us an opportunity to turn a player whose value has risen quickly into more stable dynasty assets. I’d start by asking for a 2027 first plus another piece, taking advantage of the current enthusiasm rather than assuming his recent production represents his permanent value. If I can’t get a first, I’d consider a second plus an established veteran producer such as A.J. Brown, who gives me usable production and another asset I can potentially flip later. This is less about fading Washington completely and more about selling into a market spike when the return outweighs the risk of holding.”
– Stephen Floyd (Draft With Doug)

Jaylen Warren (RB – PIT)

“Jaylen Warren has been a great RB1 for the Steelers the last 2 weeks with 17 carries each week, 220 total rushing yards, and 6.5 yards/attempt. The uptick in production is due to Rico Dowdle being out with various toe injuries. Warren is currently at his highest value and is a great trade-high candidate due to the production, running back injuries across the league, and the need for owners to move him before Dowdle returns and Pittsburgh becomes a full-blown committee again (possibly this week, but probably in the next few weeks). Warren is an excellent trade candidate to use to upgrade the wide receiver position or add a low-end (flier/underperforming) running back with players like Keon Coleman, Carnell Tate (possibly too late), or Omarion Hampton (owners are down on him), or older players getting touches like Tony Pollard and Aaron Jones, Sr.”
– Adam Dove (The Fantasy Couriers)

T.J. Hockenson (TE – MIN)

“Tight end has been an area of struggle for most fantasy managers, and it may be time to cash in. TJ Hockenson gathered 13 (!!) catches Sunday versus Miami, becoming the alpha for the Vikings’ passing attack. However, all of that work came without Justin Jefferson in the lineup. There is some expectation that Jefferson will return this week, potentially sending Hockenson back down the pecking order for targets in this Vikings offense. If Hockenson could be used to acquire a flex asset such as Tony Pollard, Josh Downs, or even TreVeyon Henderson, get that done ASAP.”
– Ed Birdsall (Talking Points Sports)

DeVonta Smith (WR – PHI)

“DeVonta Smith is a glaring sell-high candidate for me. At an Expert Consensus Ranking (ECR) of WR15 overall, he’s still wildly overvalued. Smith could remain sidelined another week or two, and with Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby injured, the Eagles are in danger of imploding. Add in Lane Johnson’s retirement and Jalen Hurts‘ inability to feed his receivers, and I just don’t see a path where DeVonta can pay off at these prices. I’d be willing to swap DeVonta for Coker straight up, but you can likely get a FLEX-worthy play on top of Coker, based on market prices.”
– Jim Moorman (Dynasty Football Factory)

Emanuel Wilson (RB – SEA)

“Emanuel Wilson is the definition of sell-high. He was largely undrafted in all fantasy football formats after the Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price and retained Holani, but in Week 4, Wilson exploded for 20-81-1, but that usage shouldn’t be counted on. The Seahawks designated Zach Charbonnet to return to practice from the PUP list on 01OCT, starting his 21-day practice window; he’ll be back in a couple of weeks, and when he is, expect Wilson to either fall into a 3-way RBBC or out of the rotation almost entirely. Target RB-needy teams and take advantage of their misfortunes; get what you can, someone may be willing to overpay for a couple weeks of production.”
– Avery Thrasher (The Branded Sports)

Ladd McConkey (WR – LAC)

“I’m ready to completely divest myself of all assets on the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers’ offense is a mess, and now offensive tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt are both hurt again — Slater with a high-ankle sprain, Alt with a neck injury. This isn’t exactly a “sell high,” but Ladd McConkey is still well regarded within the fantasy community. I’d happily take Quinshon Judkins for him, and I’d be willing to trade away McConkey to get a TE upgrade such as Tyler Warren or Sam LaPorta.”
