4-star recruit Marcus Jackson commits to ASU for 2025

Four-star recruit Marcus Jackson has committed to Arizona State for 2025, according to 247Sports’ Dushawn London.

The forward out of Word of God Christian Academy was previously committed to Maryland but decommitted in November.

Among the 2025 recruiting class, he is nationally ranked at No. 81 by 247Sports. He’s the ninth-ranked at his position and fourth in North Carolina.

Some built-in familiarity for Marcus Jackson at ASU

Jackson hasn’t played for ASU but already has a connection in Tempe having played high school ball with guard Trevor Best.

Best didn’t see much run to start his ASU tenure but did see more consistent minutes across the final six games of the year.

During that span, he averaged 6.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and an assist in 21.8 minutes per game.

Jackson also played a stint for AZ Compass Prep.

Marcus Jackson marks latest ASU commitment

The 6-foot-8 big man is the latest 2025 recruit committed to ASU, joining forward Jaion Pitt, center Leo Curtis and fellow power forward Kash Polk.

ASU has also seen wing Marcus Adams Jr., guard Moe Odum and forward Allen David Mukeba join the program through the transfer portal.

The Sun Devils have also seen their fair share of departures through the portal, highlighted by Jayden Quaintance, Joson Sanon (St. John’s) and Austin Nunez.

Senior point guard Alston Mason won’t suit up for ASU next season after running out of eligibility.
