Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers: Week 6
Fantasy Football Risers
Jaylen Warren (RB – PIT)
Jaylen Warren has been absolutely outstanding over the last two games. He racked up 126 total yards against the Browns in Week 4 before exploding for 188 yards and two touchdowns against the Colts in Week 5. That included a 50-yard touchdown run and an 80-yard touchdown catch.
Even with Rico Dowdle returning, Warren has simply been too good to take off the field. He’s rushed for at least 90 yards in three straight games while continuing to make an impact as a receiver.
I expect Warren to remain the clear lead back in Pittsburgh, with something closer to a 65-35 split in his favor rather than the 50-50 committee we saw earlier in the season. If that happens, Warren has a legitimate chance to keep delivering RB1 production.
Isaiah Likely (TE – NYG)
Isaiah Likely is coming off a monster performance against the Commanders, catching 11 of his 13 targets for 94 yards and two touchdowns. That followed a seven-catch, 66-yard game against the Cardinals in Week 4.
What’s encouraging is Likely’s consistent heavy usage in the passing game. He’s commanded at least a 24% target share in every game this season, so the volume is clearly there.
Jameis Winston also deserves some credit. He’s been effective since taking over at quarterback, throwing for 326 yards and three touchdowns against Washington. With Winston moving the ball through the air and Likely emerging as one of his favorite targets, I’m treating him as a legitimate every-week TE1.
Mike Evans (WR – SF)
Mike Evans just torched a tough Seahawks defense for seven catches on 10 targets, 113 yards and a touchdown in Week 5. That followed a five-catch, 76-yard performance against the Broncos.
What’s especially encouraging is Evans’ usage. He’s commanded at least a 26% target share in back-to-back games, showing that Brock Purdy is looking his way quite often.
There’s also more opportunity coming with Deebo Samuel suffering a hamstring injury against Seattle. Samuel is expected to miss multiple weeks, leaving Evans in line for even more targets.
Fantasy Football Fallers
Jeremiyah Love (RB – ARI)
Jeremiyah Love is becoming a concern for fantasy managers. The rookie appears to be playing through an injury, which could explain why his usage has been so limited lately.
What’s even more concerning is that Love hasn’t been effective in taking advantage of his opportunities. We expected him to take over Arizona’s backfield and deliver RB1 production, but that hasn’t happened consistently.
The combination of limited touches, inefficient rushing, and a potential lingering injury makes Love difficult to trust right now. Until we see him get healthier and take on a larger workload, I’m treating him as more of a low-end RB2.
Luther Burden III (WR – CHI)
Luther Burden III has been a frustrating player to roster this season. The talent is clearly there, but his usage has been inconsistent.
It doesn’t help that the Bears have leaned heavily on their running game, limiting opportunities for their pass-catchers. Even when Burden gets involved, there simply hasn’t been enough passing volume to support consistent fantasy production.
The only encouraging news is that Caleb Williams is getting closer to returning. That could give Chicago’s passing game a much-needed boost, but until we see Burden get more reliable usage, he’s hard to start.
Chase Brown (RB – CIN)
Chase Brown has been one of the more disappointing running backs in fantasy football this season, and now there’s reason to be concerned about his workload.
We just saw Samaje Perine rush for 68 yards on 14 carries against the Dolphins in Week 5, adding two catches for 10 yards and a touchdown. Perine actually outcarried Brown 14-13, which is a concerning development for anyone counting on Brown to deliver RB1 production.
The Bengals have a bye in Week 6, giving the coaching staff time to evaluate this backfield. Brown still has an important role in the passing game. However, it’ll be tough for Brown to live up to his draft-day price if Perine continues to take away early-down touches.
