Arizona Wildcats quarterback Noah Fifita was named Big 12 co-offensive player of the week after his performance in the team’s 41-13 win over Oklahoma State last Saturday.
Fifita threw for 376 yards and five touchdowns while sitting out the final 10 minutes of the blowout game. This is the second time this season Fifita has thrown for over 300 yards and five touchdowns but the first against a Power 4 opponent.
After only having one pass play of more than 30 yards in the last two weeks, Fifita was able to bounce back with multiple explosive throws. Three Wildcats receivers had receptions of more than 40 yards on Saturday, the most by the team this season.
Also receiving Big 12 offensive honors this week was TCU quarterback Josh Hoover, who threw for 275 yards and four touchdowns against Colorado.
Fifita and the Wildcats (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) will have their first home game against a ranked opponent this season, as they welcome in No. 18 BYU (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) to Tucson next Saturday.
